Gutsy  Razorbacks  Loss  In  Playoffs  Brings  Season  To  A  Close  ...

The Leominster Razorbacks (7-3) Oct 11, 2009 game against the Central Mass Fury (8-2) at Leicester, MA was a very tough overall defensive battle by both teams. However, it was the team that made the least amount of mistakes that came out with the victory, Central Mass Fury. The Fury was able to get on the board first in the 2nd quarter on a 50 yard TD and the recovered a Razorbacks offensive fumble ran in for a TD to give the Fury a first half 13-0 lead.

The second half continued to be a defensive battle, but the Razorbacks offense was able to sustain its first drive established by a well balanced run and pass attack and ended when RB #1 Alex Rivera 4 yard TD run with the 2pt attempt no good #88 to put the Razorbacks on the board 13-6. With 2 minutes left in this game, the Razorbacks offense was able to muster up another attacking drive starting from its own 30 yard line and moved the ball to the Fury yard line, but the clock expired before the Razorbacks could get the ball again into the end zone, with the Fury squeaking out the victory 13-6. The Fury will be playing the North Shore Generals on Oct 18 at Manning Field in Lynn MA, with kickoff at 7:00 PM for the NEFL AA Pioneer Divisional Championship game.

The Razorbacks 2009 season was very successful and it looks forward to the post season activities such as the Nov 21, 2009 Allstar Game that will be played at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, MA. Also following this NEFL triple header extravaganza will be the NEFL MVP and HOF Awards Dinner. The Leominster Razorbacks 2009 TEAM possessed many allstars this year but the NEFL only allows each team with an allocation of five players. This made it very difficult for our team this year but the following five primary Allstars were selected to represent the Razorbacks TEAM at the November 21, 2009 NEFL AA Allstar Game from left to right: Alex Rivera, Eric Meza, Chris Wells, Mike Curley, and Andy Algarin.

The Razorbacks organization also chose five alternate offensive allstars and five alternate defensive allstars. If any of the five selected primary allstars are unable to attend and participate in this years NEFL allstar game, there will be a replacement for each of the primary allstars. Therefore, the following alternate offensive allstars were selected: #34 Nick Boschetto, #55 Mark Curley, #59 Mike Quist, #77 Matty Algarin, and #88 Harrison Williams ; and the five alternate defensive allstars selected: #4 Adam Meza, #14 Jimmy Kugel, #42 Kyle Desrosiers, #50 Mike Lopez, and #93 Phil Clark.
